Let the begging on the knees begin I picked up an L&B leaflet at the SDLR today in between driving turns. You can have a return footplate ride for £15, or a single footplate ride for £10! Not to sure about that, as I could drive an engine at the ESR for £5. I know which one I'd rather choose

It does actually say, and I quote:
"Rides are available on our steam and diesel locomotives. Footplate passes cost £15 for a return journey, or £10 one way, and help raise funds for the restoration of the railway." Although if I mention Amberley in the same sentence as 'nice locos compared to Amberley' I'll probably get one for free. Although I like the L&B and would pay for the privilege.

P.S. Sorry to our younger members, you have to be 14 and over for a footplate ride on the L&B!
