A bit about Griffin.Well, having been on this Forum for nearly twelve months I thought I had better get round to doing a proper introduction.
The name is Steven, I have recently turned 40, and I am married, with two children, a Girl of eight, and a boy of six...
I work in Agriculture, and have done so since leaving school.
I live in the North part of Cheshire, which is about 10 miles from Liverpool, and about 25 miles from Manchester.
I have been around Mamod engines for as long as I can remember, having memories of my older brothers TE1 racing around the kitchen floor from an early age. I got my first Engine in 1976, a Minor 2. Then I acquired a blue SW1 in 1979.
I started collecting Mamods again about two years ago, when I bought a computer and found out about the wonderful world of eBay. Yet to decide if that is a good or bad thing.
Other interests are; Agricultural and Plant machines old and new, and collecting toy tractors, though not much of late as toy steam engines seem to always get in the way and soak up any available funds.
One of the reasons for joining the forum (well, old one actually) was to improve my non-existent computer skills, as I missed the boat somewhat regarding computers.
Well, that about sums it up.
Steven

A very late welcome to you Griffin.
If you like collecting toy tractors no wonder you like the little mobile I just found. It combines Steam and tractor all into one neat little package and brings you two collections together.

Hello Griffin.
And welcome to the world of computers. They can be very frustrating things, but are also great for bring people together with common interests.

Griff, I think I had gleaned most of the info in your message from prior emails...but have always wanted to know how you came up with the online name: Griffin ??
As for your computer skills...if you have acquired most of your Mamods in the past two years via eBay, you have mastered THAT computer skill quite well.
We need more of our regular posters to stand up and give an intro as well...even if done once a year ago, many of us are newer to the forum and it's nice to get current info.
cheers,
Rog

Rog, the name came about with the conection to the Griffin and George SE3's, also the local Pub is called the Griffin
It was the only name I could think up at the time, I am not very imaginative

Griffin...I thought for sure it was a takeoff from the Harry Potter movies...you know, the "House of Griffindorf"
