A Jensen 5 twin?Hi, i was thinking, and thought of an idea for a Jensen 5 twin, similar cylinder arrangement to a 55. So parallel cylinders instead of v-twin design. I think would require a new frame. It's beyond my fabricating skills, but I think it's a cool idea

That would be fantastic, I love the Jensen 5!

Also, if you had the heavy cast iron flywheel with the twin cylinders, imagine how slow that thing could go . I think it would be one of, if not the slowest oscillating engines ever.

I have thought along similar lines, but I too cannot build such a thing.
Best I could come up with was marrying 2 Model 70 engines via a gear drive

I saw your Jensen 70D, that's a really cool engine . I like the dual flywheels.

Ta.
I used two flywheels mainly because I seem to have a number of the small alloy ones on hand after putting Model 55 flywheels on 2 engines and a Model 20 one on another.
Plus those darn cast wheels get expensive.
It does lend a nice bit of symmetry, though..

Your twin "D" is 'da bomb...such clever gear usage... you always do creative projects!

I must admit that the gears were a sort of cop-out so that I would not have to do the sort of in-line setup that this twin-25 marine engine of mine has
It took such a long time to puzzle out in my head how to configure the thing up that I am embarrassed to admit the months involved.

One could make a base using sheet metal I asuppose.
The cylinder from a 5 is the same as found on the 35 and 70 so one might find an inexpensive cylinder on a poor condition engine.
