A new mamod fan ..Hello everybody ..
I' m a 62 retired man. All along my life, I made plane models, free flight, U control, and at the end RC planes. When 40, I built up a two seater, and became a sunday pilot .. Now retired, I have time enough to make what I liked when teen ager.
So I rebegan to learn some years ago all about tube radios, I have now may be 20 radios perfectly restored..
The last thing .. When 7 , my parents gave to me for Xmas a steam engine, has finished in a trash some years after ... Recently, I found the same for a few euros , it is now restored in great shape ..
Also, I bought on ebay a TE1, it' s now also in good shape ..
I would like now to have a used Mamod loco;
Thank you to all for your welcome on this forum, I' ll have soon a question about the Te1.
Cheers from France

Welcome from a chilly Gloucestershire.
Funny, I drove past Troyes on the way to and from the French Alps last week. From memory we have 3 or 4 French members on here, and a growing European as well as worldwide base.
Nice engine there, and look foreward to pictures of your TE.

Te1Thank you to all for your kind welcome !
Enclosed is a picture of my Te1. I bought it a few weeks ago and restored it .
The chimney is not very stable, as you can see.
Is this a Te1 illness ?
Thank you !
Also, I dismantled the cylinder, and I wonder .. Please see the enclosed drawing. Would like to know if there is some washer in the red area or not ..

Welcome to the forum
No washer is meant to be there. On some older Mamod stationaries they did have a felt washer but the design was slightly different.
Regarding the chimney, I've seen that happen before. A drop or 2 of araldite (loctite etc) will fix it
