Abbey Hill Steam Fair 2009I spent the long weekend at Abbey Hill Yeovil when I met up with Jay Minor on Saturday and Willsy on the Sunday. We all had steam engines and accessories on display thoughout both days and had a great if not difficult time trying to steam them.
Jay did cheat as he had an air supply with him although is was very pratical. He did steam his flatbase bargain he bought there which ran very sweetly indeed.
I did make up a small Arnold workshop for my engines to run but had no success at all. 
On the Sunday Willsy ran every engine he brought with him with varying degrees of success as the wind was horrid on both days. I did manage to steam mine but I still could not get the workshop going so I gave up with that and tried with the Mamod SP tools I put on another board. I did manage to get it going but had to keep disconnecting tools, so with plenty of 3-1 oil, a Bowman M167 and a lot of perseverance I managed late Sunday afternoon to run the complete workshop. With Monday overcast and also the odd drops of rain appearing I ran the M167 and SP tools all day with a couple of other engines running on their own.
I had a great weekend, spent too much time playing therefore I did not take many pictures.
Jays tables, I forgot to take pictures of Wills tables.

lovelythose little minature scale lorry and traction engine are making me think,id really like 1 of those instead of all my models,where is the best place to start looking for an engine i could show and ride,and how would i get a spot to display my collection at these shows?under the advert of "part of the unoficial mamod and other steams forum" collection,and why dont we go for a world record of the biggest collection of engines on an internet group??? must be worth a shot??

If you want a miniature Traction Engine or Lorry be prepare to part with a lot of money, in the region of £10,000 to £20,000. 
If you want to display your collection then get in touch with the people running the Craft and Model Tent at your local shows.

Les how about putting a video on the site of that hypnotiser thingy wheel running , its in the first photo . We could all claim we were hypnotised into buying more engines

It is a Fleischmann Spiral wheel #209 and I will try to do a video this weekend.
