Welcom Frasteam from Australia.
My wife is Scottish, we met when I lived in Glasgow.

Loved the coutryside and history of Scotland but hated the weather so had to move back to OZ. But I seem to visit Scotland every 2 or 3 years though still.

G'day Frasteam

I like the front-loaders myself, particularly the American Civil War era (English made) Enfield musket. I'm also more of a single shot man, since there isn't much in the way of left-hander friendly modern guns (that I like), other than the Ruger 10/22. For me it's Sharps-pattern (replica) rifles, the Winchester 86 and 92 repeaters (their finest action), and the odd Remington Rolling Block that keep me amused.

I was under the impression that firearms were just about outlawed on that side of the pond years ago.

I'm looking at a Wilesco D21 myself. Tell me, when you get it going good and fast are you just about constantly at the water pump refilling the boiler? I know my D22 goes through water in a hurry!
Frasteam

i would strongly recomend 1 there brill and works smothly and the water top up pump is a gr8 feature

I hear you. I've never fired a flintlock myself, mainly because I don't know anyone with a LH one and I'd like to keep my right hand side eyebrow

If Ebay is kind to me I might have a D21 in a few weeks. I just need an example of the large bore Wilesco engine and that's it, so I may as well get the best one they make (since I can't afford a used D32 ).
Frasteam

ive made a metal plate to stop the flash being so bad but ive lostmy eyebrow many times.
