Alcohol Fired Jensen 75This one arrived a few weeks ago, but the boiler was sacrificed for the non-reversing 25 I was fortunate enough to win another Boiler on an Ebay auction and it arrived today. I ran this using the burner from my Luton Bowman PW203 and to be honest I think it was too much burner, the next time I run this I will try the burner from my M135.
Here it is with a working boiler, my Alcohol Fired Jensen 75
A few of these were made as an experiment to see if Jensen could market an Alcohol fired engine, the Alcohol 75 borrowed the engine from the 70. Today the model number lives on with the Jensen 75 being the Esbit fired counterpart to the 25.

John, the replacement boiler looks great, that was a fortunate find, now you need to make a copy burner. Nick supplied all the dimensions and a great set of pics not long ago. It is basically a Bowman style burner with a cork in the tank vs. screw in fitting.
Glad it all worked out for you.

John, I am glad yours arrived safe and in very nice condition.
I have been doing some work on mine and I hope to reveal it to the forum some time this week.

Nice one John.
Do they have a holder for the burner under the boiler? Or it just sits there?
What era do these engines date from?

Wallace, here's my burner, the tank just sits on the base:

John, is that insulation on the base? (If so, did it come with it, or did you put it there?)
Someone had installed a tin sheet on the base of mine.

I thought the #75s were horizontal engines

I placed the insulation there, but most pictures I see have a sheet there, the metal would probably be more permanent though. A drop of Meths resultant from boiling or spilling could set the wooden base on fire, and I do not want to have another fire in the house for a long long time.

That looks really nice, glad to see you managed to get hold of a second boiler and you have a complete engine again.

That model was produced for a very short time from the early to late 1950s
