another for the collection

Just added this one ( another stationary ) - didn't have one that could be throttled back and surprised by how slow it will run ( and smooth ) - when running slow it's almost silent !

Also managed to pic up another roller - again, tatty, but has cleaned up will ( the later one in the centre )
getting a nice collection now.

Cheers

I love the SE2...and I see you've got a Burnac as well! They work in the same way, choke on the exhaust.....brilliant engines!

That cleaned up nicely. Much prefer the looks of the old brass whistle to the modern ones, even if you do burn your fingers when you use it.

I don't think it's the right burner though ?

It came with a box with that burner in the picture , but I think the box may have been for an earlier model, so maybe should have the later meths burner - the base under the boiler has the guides for the later burner - I was toying with the idea of offering a swop, but the 3 wick burner works ok and is a bit different. I had to make a new boiler band as the original was rusted away - luckily I had just taken a video down the tip, and as usual, I took it to bits to see if there was anything useful to keep - nice flat ally sheet as it happens ... came in useful didn't it

Cheers

I think Mamod changed from the wick burner to the vaporising type around the time of that engine.  MM is the one to ask, he is a mine of information

The best way to see if its been with the engine its whole life is to look for a "ring" on the base plate, most of the wick burner models have ringed marks on the base where its sat for the last 40+ years

Nice engine. I have one that's more or less identical, but with the later burner.

That engine really has come up nicely.  Good work Spokey

If you want to swap your 3 wick burner I have the vapourising burner for that model

The SE2's certainly run smoothly and are powerful too.
