Another poor serviceI ordered some parts from Ip engineering last THURSDAY and guess what...still nothing!!!!
I took the time to read through their ordering info which made me chuckle on a couple of occasions:
We will indicate acceptance of your order
Ummm no. I had to email them asking if they'd got my order and they replied in these words 3 days later:
yess order received.........
This one is the biggest joke of all time:
Delivery Schedule We deliver your order right away.
totall Boll**ks!
I bought soemthing off PPS sent a cheque out and the parts came the next day!!!! I paid by debit card on this one and i'm still waiting and waiting and waiting.....If i get this before STIA it will be a miracle!!!!
Congratulations IP you've lost yourself a future customer!

We need to dig that thread up about who we buy from, put you comment on it, and stick it on the useful board.

Do you need the regular spacer or the filed one for the meths burner.
If you have the regular one you could always file a grove in it for the burner.

Ohh.
Cant help you with the wheels sorry.
I've ordered from him twice and it has taken between 1 and 2 weeks for me to get the items but then it taks between 3 and 8 days for post to arrive from the UK.
Its funny I ordered something on Thursday from the UK, something from the Eastern states of Australia on Friday and something from China on Friday aswell.
Today I get the stuff from the UK and China but not the stuff from the eastern States of OZ. Go figure.

hi
sorry to hear about you bad experience with ip engineering, but don't be to hard on them. i have known ivan prior for a long time, back when he was making model aircaft engines and spares, and he only went over to making model railway because the customers didn't want something for nothing. he is always very respectful of his customers and has built up a good reputation in the railway world. i hope that you consider using him again.
cheers

i had a similar experiance with a company called Compass House, manufacturers of miniature railway bits. It took them almost a full week to send some wheels and axles for my new 5" brake van. When I called I just got a blunt "its on the shop floor haven't sent it yet". My mate bought a load of motors from him and actually went to him personally because he didn't trust the company to deliver in time for him. When the wheels turned up I was ecstatic as the machining on them was rather good, except the axles. I had asked if they were 1/2" dia. He said they were, I buy 1/2" bearings, guess what? Axles are just over 1/2" diameter. It was a doddle to turn them in a lathe but blimey I really shouldn't have had to resort to that!
I'm giving them a last chance when I do my steam loco with their bits.
