Anyone know what this is- came with a Bing verticalThis small brass piece doesnt fit on my new Bing, but came with it. It has a nut and thread on the bottom, and a screw at the top, which allows a tube perhaps or something circular to be passed through and then tightened up.
its nicely engineered and looks old to me.
?Steam or not

Looks like a terminal for connecting electrical cable to. It would be secured to a busbar or similar with the hexagonal nut, and the end of the wire put in the hole and gripped by turning the knurled knob. Could be used for connecting something to a dynamo?

That's easy:
It was one fixed with another one on a tin baseplate of a dynamo.
Maybe Bing or similar.
The wires from the dynamo ended at the screws (mostly ended unter the baseplate so you couln't see them)
So if you wanted to take the power off, you just commected your Lampf or whatever by placing the 2 wires in the wholes and tightened by the upper screw.
