If they had not gone tearing through like that, they would most likely have made it through no problem

When I did me 4WD course with the SES when we got to the spot to do our water crossing a 4WD club was there using it.
ALmost all of them got a bow wave over the entire bonnet and windscreen. They drowned one 4WD, ripped the number plate off another and nearly put another on its side. When it came to our turn we didn't even get the head lights wet. Three main rules for driving through water. 1. Keep Bow wave to a minimum. 2. Drive at a constant speed. 3.Don't form a convoy in water because if the front one get stuck you all get stuck. I suppose you could have a fourth and fifth rule too. 4. Do you really need to drive in the water? 5. Check the depth and speed of the water to ensure your vehicle can get through it. |
