Australia VotesI'm not going to go into who I want to win or why as that is bound to cause disagreements but just give you all the facts.
Australia had its Federal election today and so far with just under 26% of votes counted there is a 5.6% swing to Labour which is enough for them to win.
Its still early days but it looks like our Prime Minister is not even going to hold onto his seat little alone win the election.
For thos interested this web site will give you up to the minute results in the counting.

Thanks Tony.
I hope whoever wins does so with a clear majority. There's nothing worse than a hung parliament.
I have to say that I've had a sneaking admiration for the way your government have tackled thorny issues in the past ten years, but as you say, that's not for discussion here.
I just hope the best party wins.
Good luck to all those down under who it will affect in one way or the other.

But it's still a good place to be, just like your countries, mates! As a poet once said: "Kein schöner Land in dieser Zeit!"
Cheers, me dear friends!

Toxx, you will always be welcome here at my place, even on election day.
I think the whole world is on a mess right now and the outcome of a few elections will only be a start towards any change. I know the Politicos in Washing ton are crying over the loss of a supporter. Maybe they will wake up and see the light, things have to change a bit before it will get better.

They still haven't finished all the counting and are waiting on postal votes but as he is behind 3.5% it would require a miricle for him to keep his seat.
Liberals took a hit in nearly every electrate.
I guess his 'Work Choices' reforms weren't as popular as he thought they were.
