Some very impressive speed also some very poor seamanship and handling.

Impressive fleet working the pond together there. Well worth the watching ... thank you Miles!

The rule with displacement hulls is aspect ratio, long an lean. Long skinny boats go fast.

very true.

The boat at 6:03 ("Resolve") looks just like the "Foundation Franklin" (ex HMS Frisky) ocean rescue/salvage tug from Farley Mowat's book "Grey Seas Under". Beautiful.

I'd like a closer look at the engine driving that torpedo boat. It sure steams well, whatever it is!
MrDuck

That man shouldn't be out swimming during the race
Steamboat Willie

Speedy Boat...

Thanks for posting that Logman! I have never seen a steamboat on steroids before... What was its powerplant?
Steamboat Willie.

Oh!  ...   how terrible it was to see one of those Steam Plants take a dunking.  ...   Grrrrrr.

Make me the fourth person who would like to see the power plant behind that racy thingy too.
Wasn't so impressed with the boat tho',  just felt that the beam was too narrow, and it just wasn't my style either.

I'd like to see one of  Miles's boats  Please !!!  ...  especially that tugboat as soon as you get it finished.
That's a top boat Miles, it's beautifully made, and it just looks good.

many thanks to Ladislav Dousa for these photos.

A well used engine room.....It would be fun to chat with the owner and hear how all the levers and switches and components evolved.

I love that part of the design!! It looks to have a huge fuel reservoir.

Thanks for requesting the photos and thanks to the owner for supplying them

The spartan use of detail above deck also guides me when I resume the Cushing build..
