AzRob/Red Rocks Railroad ShedWhile they are not running (yet), I thought I'd post up some of the latest from the Ruby and hopefully by the end of the STWWW Los Dos will be operational.

Burner on the Ruby running.
You can see that not only is steam (and oil) leaking from between the valve block and cylinder, but also through the front right screw hole that holds them together...

Thanks!
Got back from the Post Office today and no package of parts for Los Dos...she's probably out of the running for this weekend then, unless my wife gets over there tomorrow when they hand out packages.

Does that front right screw not tighten which is causing it to leak??

I have two suggestions for the leaking problem. I have a Mimi , Ruby's big sister ( 2-4-2 ) . I have had mine apart to fit larger bore cylinders to mine. It could be the hole in the cylinder block isn't bored to the right depth or the length of the screw is a bit too long. If it is either of these , the best way would be to shorten the screw a few thousands of an inch to allow it to pull down tighter against the valve block to the cylinder mounting. Accucraft screws are not always the same length even for the same usage. The tolerence control from the factory is not the greatest. I have 5 Accucraft locomotives and I have to make sure I put the screw back in the same hole it came out of or there is a problem.
Your Ruby is looking good. They make a nice runner after breaking in . They also need a train to help keep them to a reasonable speed . Keep up the good work.

Hey, thanks for the tips. I am definitely going to be adding cars to my consist (probably getting my first 10' car this week). I'll check screw lengths and see if that is the issue.
