You're asking a lot of that boiler and it is getting the job done.

well we are kiwis and we can do
we believe in the old number 8 wire concept
Now that I know it will run on such a little boiler
I can work on it's own boiler
To be honest i thought it would run then die very quick
but got it started and thought damn ! the camera is in side so left it
running while got camera ready to video it
and it was still running when I stopped taping

no kits as i do not have the patience and my skills are not good enough but I had thought of taking the side plates in to town and getting them laser cut in Stainless Steel for a bit of shine but i know what my other half will say and it is not repeatable here

That is a very fine beam & to see & hear it finally in steam is even better! Also nice to know it won’t need a gigantic boiler – well done brave little MM2!

Re: Beam Engine now on Steam
Nice work, are there any 'proper' drawings or did you build it from the magazine article?
some of the measurements are there and some had to be deduced
I also had to alter how the cylinder is held together as at the time i did not have small enough tap and dies but now have purchased a 0 to 10 BA set which is also why it is mainly held together with 5/32 BSW bolts
if any body is going to try it and need help just PM me
