Bennett Brook Railway - Perth, W.Australia

Hello,
This is one for the people down under! Well perhaps not all of you, I understand it's quite a big place .
http://www.git.com.au/~meads/bennettbrook/
This railway is within a mms of the gauge the railway that Simon & I work on. It has one operational ex-SAR NG15 2-8-2 & another presumably having a re-build. These are awsome engines worth seeing. We have some under re-build at the WHR. Has anyone been there?

Don't you live near Perth Tony, if you haven't been yet, it looks worth a visit, especially is the NG15 is working.

Yes thats about 20 minutes from my house.
It in Whitman Park which also has a tractor museum which has one working traction engine and several more waiting for restoration, a working tram line,a car musem, a musem called revolutions which is all about public transport, bird sanctary and a wildlife park as well as a massive park with picnice spots and a little village of shops including a working printers shop that uses Victorian printing presses.

Here is a picture of Rosalie one of the Diesels they have there.
During the summer months due to firebans they can't run the steam locos

Looks great, will put in my to do list when we take off for the big trip around OZ in a couple of years time. Currently it would take about 5-6 days, at about 500km per day, to just get there, .
