Bennett Brook Railway - Perth, W.AustraliaHello,
This is one for the people down under! Well perhaps not all of you, I understand it's quite a big place .
http://www.git.com.au/~meads/bennettbrook/
This railway is within a mms of the gauge the railway that Simon & I work on. It has one operational ex-SAR NG15 2-8-2 & another presumably having a re-build. These are awsome engines worth seeing. We have some under re-build at the WHR. Has anyone been there?
Don't you live near Perth Tony, if you haven't been yet, it looks worth a visit, especially is the NG15 is working.

Yes thats about 20 minutes from my house.

Here is a picture of Rosalie one of the Diesels they have there.
During the summer months due to firebans they can't run the steam locos

Looks great, will put in my to do list when we take off for the big trip around OZ in a couple of years time. Currently it would take about 5-6 days, at about 500km per day, to just get there, .

Castledare Miniture railways is about 25 minutes from my house in the other direction and is a 7 1/4 inch miniture railway with about 5km of track making it one of the largest in Australia.
Its been years since I've been there and I need to take my son soon.
