Big Time Bummin' !!!!!Will not be able to check in as often as I used to. I used to check in during breaks and lunch while at work.
But not anymore! The corporate overlords have caught up with me, and have blocked most of this forum.
If I get an email of a reply, I can click the link and see the reply or new post if it does not require logging in. I can scroll up and down in that thread, but if I navigate at all... BLOCKED FOR MY PROTECTION....
YAY!
Just thought I would share.
I can still access email, so please do not hesitate to email me.

A paycheck is more important than daytime forum surfing, but it does cramp ones style.

Watch out for corp. overlords and net cruising.
A year ago my sister in RI lost her job for cruising the net on worktime...no warning, just a call into the personel mgrs. office and a stack of "log in" confirmations she could not deny. They gave her 10 min. to clear out her desk and leave the property. Amazing thing was she worked IN the personel office and had no idea they were monitoring net use. Unfortunately because she was fired for such a cause, she could not get recommendations and could not collect unemployment...cost her 6 months time and wages before she found a lower paying job further from home.
Nope, ain't worth the risk to anyone to be cruising the net (forum) on company time...too easily trackable and in today's economy and an easy way to reduce headcount!!!

Personal emails are easier to track than Web surfing. that is why I refrain from emailing people at their work, unless it is a work related email.

Would you want someone you hired to do a job...web surfing on your dime?
Who can blame them......If your jacking around on youtube on the clock ect....You asked for it....
Gives them a easy no-contest termination too with no unemployment hit...
But if you insist Owen .....Use a Proxy site.....Its how surfers in Communist nations view sites that their OverLords deem bad....IE Honest News about what their government is up to....

Its not that we are not allowed to surf on our off time. I generally log in once at morning break, again at lunch for a bit, then once or twice more in the afternoon.
It has to do with "approved sites" They classify this site as "chat" I can still access my email, that is through google.
Life goes on.

That sucks Owen! I'm very lucky that my employer is quite liberal in these things: as long as you do your job, they really don't care what you do in your spare minutes (within reason, of course).
