Bing 1914 130/532 generating plant post restoration

Here it is folks, the Bing in the evening sunshine.

Since receiving it a couple of weeks ago, I've done the following:

-Removed the boiler straps and reinstated the boiler tags
-removed meccano brackets and reinstated the firebox tags
-stripped firebox of many layers of paint and repainted
-removed thick layer of dust and grease from all parts of the engine
-repaired the wiring
-reinstated the exhaust pipe
-repaired and reisntated the pressure gauge
-repaired the water gauge
-Put the lovely "new" burner from MrDuck under it!

And yes, it runs! I'll do a video soon.

Holy Mooses!
Well done, Odilon. You know that I am usually not in favour of repainting, but you have done a very good job here, everything looks  fine and well cared for, but the engine has not lost its authentic appearance!
Congrats!
...and, yes, I am waiting for the video!

Thanks all!

Repainting the firebox was a tough call, but it had already been overpainted so many times that the "rivets" were practically obscured, and the Bing logo was invisible.....here it is as it arrived:

Odilon, you know I have always tended to restore by stripping down to the atomic level and repainting completely, but with that base, you have done the right thing with a "sympathetic" restoration as it's called (I believe that is the term).  Really, about as good as could be. absolutely gorgeous.

I think with such a classic bulb however, I might keep that for display, photos and a one time video to capture it.  Beyond that, I would be inclinded to run it routinely with a more conventional, replaceable bulb to preserve the original.  I have never seen such a bulb, it is beautiful.

Very nice plant and work. Could I have some close-ups of that old light-bulb and generator please?
St. Paul steam
