Bing Fountain, Model 9956/58 1899

Bing Fountain, Model 9956/58  1899.

Got this from French e-bay today.
It's German, but there are no marks that I can see.

Quite an interesting piece there, I do not think I have seen one like it.
Les

It is 9" long, 6 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" high.

Les

The only one I have seen with an identical cherub is one made by Bing.
It still works as well.

johnreid

I would PM Mirko and ask him, it sure looks German. Are you going to video it?

I never thought of asking Mirko.
And yes, it will be filmed this weekend.

I would say Ernst Plank is a possibility as I have a picture of a fountain he did with a similar cherub.
Its on page 204 of 'Steam Toys' A symphony in Motion
book if you have a copy handy
Les

I have got that book, and I must admit, it is a wonderful book, and I agree that is a possibility, Bing used the same figure on one of their fountains on page 58, but the piston is different.
Mind you the flywheel is wrong for a Plank.
tmuir

Missed that one, so I guess it could be a Bing or Plank or something else.

I found it!

It is definetely a Bing.
Model 9956/58 Fountain, dated from 1902-1904 (i looked it up in my catalogue)

I got from my friend in nuremberg a bunch of bing catalogues.
Of course not original ones.
Just bookes including the copied pages.
So i have not the complete Bing Catalogues...from pre 1900 till the end in ca. 1935

You lucky man.
Wallace

Really nice Les. Since you have been putting up pics of your accessories, I have been searching ebay for some.

Judging by the prices, so have others

Great to see it
Les

I got the Bing 1898 Catalogue yesterday and I can now date it to October 1899.

This is definitely the oldest accessory I own.
