Bing HerculesI was given this engine by a good friend a couple of years ago. It is the sad remains of Bing Hercules, model number 13095, which was produced between 1902 -1906.
Here is the origanal picture of the engine as produced in 1906
And my engine today
What happened to the boiler I hear you say, well my friend once had the boiler but he gave it away without thinking to someone else and can't remember who!!!!! never mind!!
At this moment the engine is missing the governor. Bing Hercules was very special because for an extra price the owner could replace the dummy governor with a working one. The feedpump, which is described as Bings ' superior water feed pump' in 1906 requires a new eccentric and connecting rod to complete. The drive pulley was suitable for spring belts or flat belts.
Hopefully soon the engine will be restored and perhaps connected to a boiler. Does anyone out there have the missing boiler!!! I would love to hear from you!!!!!!!!
