Most photo editing software does that. The effect is called Grey Scale
email me the photo and I would do it for you. IF you need my email, PM me

As SAID,
Most software has the capability to do this for you. I have taken some Black and White on my digi camera yesterday of Papplewick Pumping Station, in Nottingham. Go into menu and select Colour, Sepia , Black and white.
Worth having a go at as the results are quite interesting and not what you would think. Makes stuff look very old at a touch of a button.

Thanks for the offer John!
I played around with all the buttons in Microsoft Office Picture Manager and something I did turned it black and white
If I need to do another one in the future, and I can't do it, would you do it please?

... Jim, I guess your camera can do b/w or sepia right in its menue? My Pentax has that feature ... the manual is as thick as telephone book. Well, kinda.

if you want it to look real old (i use paint shop pro)
Lower the saturation down to 0 (makes it black and white)
Then duplicate the image so that it a layer overf it self
Then right click on the layer
select propties
Select bland mode
selct overlay
Before (colour)
After (Black & White)

It's as easy as going into Adjustments and selecting Black and White.
Good free program, though for windows XP only since version 3

Or go the old fashioned sepia route...

I like the sepia look a lot. You should do it with a toy steam engine.

I've always found the sepia look nice, but odd.
The colour is nearly what it looks like over here in the daytime when there is a major bushfire around.
