Boiler repairI have a sweet little MM2 who has a few tiny leaks in her end cap near the chimney. It's previous owner it seemed over pressurised her to destruction.
I'm after someone who would be willing to try and fix her for me, for a reasonable cost of course  . I have neither the means or equipment to take on a job like this, and envy those who can manage it.
If anyone thinks they can fix it, please pm me for more info or a quote. If it's too much I'll sell it on the boards for someone to own and repair.

How about buying a wreak off ebay just for the boiler??
There are always plenty for sale.

Syrtismajor, are the leaks in the solder join or in the actuall brass of the endcap?

The leaks are actually in the brass of the end-cap. The pressure has made the flat end bowl like, and the leaks seem to have appeared in the stress lines.

You could possibly solder on the inside of the caps  to block the holes I guess

That was what my guess was, but I'm still only practicing with soldering in my rather small bedroom. I haven't the space to take the boiler apart with a bigger blowtorch and the back garden where I ran Sir Rillian is a shared area with the other residents. Don't think they'll appreciate me doing it out there, they gave me funny looks while I was spraying!
I feel I am really out of my depth to attempt it myself.

It's not too difficult to attempt. I would definatly keep for a future project.
As long as it's the front cap that comes off... otherwise cleaning to solder on the inside would be a pain in the backside

Front cap? Which one is that? The leak is in the cap closest to the chimney

That's the front one. If it's a later MM2 only one end will come off

I think I have a MM2 from 1960 - 67ish and seems that both caps will come off.
