Born again steamer ....Indiana USAHello Fellas,
Just thought id share a bit about me.
I live in the USA (not far from IndianaROG) and he suggested i join and i agree..I have been lurking for a week or so reading all the old posts to gather info.
I once owned a d16 years ago but sold it...Now i have just gotten the bug again and have a D20 in hand and a D161 in the mail...and a mamod workshop in the mail too.
The bug bit when i had mad money ....look out.
Im partial to Wilesco as it was my first engine brand....and i do like the color schemes and layout ect of the engines.
I have already steamed the D20 today and it runs fine.I bought it used (lightly) .
I also run/landscaping a DCC HO layout in my house,I fly rc helis and planes.Me and my son play with rockets and slotcars also.
Im a hobby Nut.
I also piddle in building PC's and electronics.
Well enough about me lets talk engines.

Welcome aboard from Friendship Indiana, Rog is a great guy and you are lucky to live near him as he is a great help so many times. I might just have to drive up to Martinsville in the spring.

Welcome to the forum Jim,
Yes, this is a rarity, three Indiana Hoosiers all posting in the same thread in the same day...New Year's Eve no less.
Jim did contact me a week or two ago through my website and I was delighted to learn he lives just 10 miles south of me...a get together will definitely have to occur soon.
I saw your post to another new member (renewed member) Juha,
good input on how the valve he's fixing is constructed. That is what this forum does for us all...what might seem an obscure problem has usually been tackled successfully by another.
Again Jim, welcome to this band of toy steam brothers (and a few sisters)!!
cheers,
Rog

Hi and welcome from Western Australia.
I can also see a Jensen in your future, especially if you visit Rog and see his engines.

Chris, I got a chuckle thinking of sunny/steamy Australia at the moment...it is 13 deg. F outside at 11:15 pm New Year's Eve here in Indiana...damn cold.
The wife and I will do our traditional toast at midnite with a bottle of Oliver Winery's finest (local brand) along with some cheese and crackers to bring in the new year.
cheers and Happy New year,
Rog

A great big Scottish welcome to the forum Jim.
I see you've settled in fine already.
I'm afraid the steambug will make your pockets a bit lighter, but as we're all the same here, we can commiserate.
Take a run over and see my mate Rog when you get a chance, I can tell you, it's well worth it.
I look forward to chatting steam with you.
Sandman.

Jim, hate to tell you, but Esbit (dry fuel), stinks a whole lot more than Sterno!!!
Yes, electric Jensens were created to work in our American homes that are sealed up tight this time of year.
