Now that I have the problems sorted out, this one runs like a top. The cover stays on and it runs a long time, I bet I got 15 or 20 minutes out of a burner full , and the boiler was still over half full! My videos mught not be the best, but here it is

Wonderful to see it running again John. All's well that ends well.
Nut and new burner wick should arrive tomorrow or Sat.
Glad it has a proper home amongst a collection of very nice pieces.

Looks like it danced across the table good.
The boiler on the chimney end seems to have a lot of soot.

Runs great John!
As with most Bowmans they are marathon runners not sprinters
Griffin
Running along nicely there John, a lovely example of one of Bowmans finest.

Nice.
So, you never take the piston out to oil it? Oil just drips on the piston rod and works its way into the cylinder?
I always found that a curious arrangement. Nothing else like it out there, is there?

Runs great John. Is that your 1st bowman?

If you can get one go for a 101, they will sit and run quite happily for over an hour on one filling.
Glad yours if running as sweet as a nut John.

Mine didn't it wasn't very well
Yeah, you don't need to take the cylinder out. The oil will drip on to the cylinder and it will lubricate it all day . Can get messy though. Just a drip feeder, Mamod never made one. I think the larger Luton Bowman had one though.
