Bowman M158I have recently aqquired this Bowman M158 from mm after a long but worth while wait 
any info would be good as i have no idea of bowman history

Nice one Lewis,
I see MMs taken to eating copper exhaust pipes 
I think these were made mid 20s to late 30s. I am not aware that they changed much to narrow the date down, but I assume the cardboard boxes were a later addition, earlier were wooden. Also the bases wooden were generally earlier than the metal.
Mines got similar nibbled exhaust- some had an optional brass chimney, Steve-s has done a piece on replacing them, looks good.

im gonna leave it as it it and maybe put a rubber pipe on it when i run it
