Bowman Racing Yacht

here are some pics of the racing yacht. i wonder if i am the only owner on here to have one???

it does have its original sails, but they have some rust marks on them and some holes, so im making some new ones.

the keel and rudder blades have been re-painted as they where covered in rust. we sanded the rust off and put several coats of paint on.

some of the blue paint on the hull had been chipped off, so we touched them up. some of the blue has gone on to the deck, so we will hide this with some brown.

the decal which reads "bowman racing yacht, made in england, ridlington, hainsbro, norfolk". it has a hole through the middle, which i think was put over a hole to hide it, and put through by my dad by accident.

i think i have rigged the yacht up correctly in the pics, im not deffo sure.

anyway, here are the pics:

I bet it can be difficult to get one of the sailboats back to where you put it in the water. Nut I also suspect that you have a lot longer run times too. Real nice boats there.
Les

I try and use a small pond and thats where patience comes in.
Rob

nice one les. my one is about 18/20" long.

I have one too. Its 10.75 inches long and apparently it's called a Swift:

Cool, I like the looks of them and I bet the big keel keeps them from capsizing quite well.
Les

Very nice.

Yes, the keels are quite heavy so the hull is self-righting from any angle.... that should prevent mid-pond disasters.
