Burner Comparison

Some pictures of different Mamod and Hobbies Wick Burners
Right to Left
My 5 Wick SE4
Early Post War Mamod 2 Wick
Hobbies 2 Wick
My Hobbies 2 Wick
My Pre War Mamod 1 Wick

Mamodman123

I have the Hobbies 2 wick and the pre-war Mamod green 2 wick, incidently that came with my 1946 SE2

Good to see MF! you can clearly see the size differences. Especially with the SE4 burner
oldstuff

They sure came out nice, MF. What engine would be for the pre-war 1-wick?
If it's for a minor, it seems a little big...but I'm comparing to the post-war
minor burner I have.

Diamond geezer!

Let me know how much the damage is

Yes all pre-war burners are like a matt, grey/black. The ones in the bible have been restored, thats for sure!
mj

mamod/hobbies burners.
MF your 1 wick is pretty close to the one below

Size comparison of bowman burners. Left m180, right 101 & inbetween various dates/sizes

The tin on the bowman burner 2nd from the right is exactly the same as the hobbies/mamod 2 wick tin. Probably changeover period model?

I based it on this picture, it appears to be a standard pre war burner Minor 1 and a little taller than mine but hey ho, its spot on for two wick burners
Mamodman123

i'm not too keen on the bowman burners, when they run low they tend to just stop burning......
MamodFan

not looked at that picture for a while, they really do look similer

Mamodman123

Spot on mate
