The SE2 with throttle was intorduced in 1948 and carried on til 1965.

Did the throttles work reasonably well, I never had much luck with the regulation part of them

In my experience none of those kind of swing throttles work very well in that they don't seem to be very graduated. I would suspect that it would take a conventional type of screw valve to achieve this function.

They aren't too bad, better on the SE3 than the smaller models!
ITs better when you have a piece of rubber on it so its less hot to touch!
