Cboomf's Table Board (Holborough sheds) **Finished**Chuff chuff poop poop to all our rail fans
It occurred while I was thinking about this, just how much different in size my steam locos are. They are obviously different but, I never quite twigged just how different they were in size and complexity.
For convenience, I didn't get the tender out, just wouldn't fit on the board
And when you can sit on on the others running board it becomes obvious

From these two shot you just notice how wonderfully simple locos can be against some brilliant engineering by the folks at Polly
When we painted and lined her, we underestimated how hot the cylinders got, the lining just peeled off even after being lackered
And yes, my Polly does burn real coal, and here's the ash to prove it
There front ends are similar, except the smokebox door
The cabs are broadly different, even between the two mamods

And to cap it off ....
Me and dad are planning another 5 inch gauge loco, but that will be for STWWW 2015 maybe?

Its five inch gauge from www.pollymodelengineering.co.uk, as their polly 6 model.
Expensive yes, was it worth it - yes and more

What a monster of an engine indeed [compared to the Mamods that is!]
Love it. For three engines, you have a very wide spectrum of locos - the top-end Polly, the upgraded MSS and the 'factory standard' Mamod/MSS [?] to illustrate just how far live steam railways have come
I wonder that the engines must be saying, seeing the blue one straddled astride the frontplate of the Polly,
"Oi, geroff! I'm not a carrier you know!"
"But you're just right...hey, Purple, see if you can fit in the cab! This big lug could save us a haul!"

Its not quite a 'factory standard' It does have a meths burner, uprated sv and steel wheels, but yes mainly its is a standard MSS

Doh, that's me focusing on the blue MSS!!!!
Still, I imagine they must thus be good runners?
