Chuffed to bits… Bowman E101At last ....
I have finished my Bowman E101 and I am over the moon After 5 months of polishing and painting I finally managed to get hold of some “Black Gloss” VHT paint. So after a long spell on the BBQ at 250deg to harden it of I was ready for the final assembly.
I will update my Restoration string for anyone interested in the whole long process.

I was just thinking 'It looks like Sandman has some competition with this one.'
Lovely job, now you have it all shiney, fire it up and get some soot on it.

I was just looking online and VHT Gloss Black Brake Paint is now available in the US! Also now offered is VHT Wrinkle finish, wonder if that would be good for SEL?

That is one first class restoration, it's plain to see a lot of time and effort went into that one.

Steve, you did that one up right...it turned out beautiful. One thing I see on yours I have not seen before is the slightly curved con rod, very attractive...mine and others I have seen are simply straight.

That connecting rod gives it a much more graceful appearance. I just cant put into words how much I like the looks of that one, you have really outshined us all.

Thanks Rog, I really appreciate that coming from the “Real Master of Restoration” himself, In truth I just aimed to get mine half as good as yours.
The con rod is only curved like that on the very old 101’s, I have only seen it on two others and they were both the old type like mine with no overflow plug. Guess old Mr. Bowman decided it was too much effort putting in the curves on later models. But it does make it feel more old world, big steam engin like I must admit.

its an excellent restoration but I think it looked better before with that niced aged look to it but each to his own

Steve, thanks for the compliment on my 101....but I think the table is turned, YOURS looks better than mine. You managed to get a very deep, lustrous red and black finish like an old classic sports car...mine is red and black but yours is RED and BLACK.
Well done for sure.

Sorry Pauly but the base was not original and once I did the base the rest just had to match or it would have looked od.
Don’t worry I still have a perfect Bowman M122 I bought from Rog - its still in its original aged state. I promise I wont ever restore this one.

The M135 that I got from Roger is in similar shape as your M122, I love the Antique look and charm they have when like that. However I see why you did this one and when you must do one it is best to do it right, as you have done.
