Cleaning crap off boileras seen on my websites B43 page, http://thesteamchest.yolasite.com/empco-b43.php, there is crap on the boiler. I don't know what it is, but it sort of comes comes off with brasso and a toothbrush, but not quite. does anybody have a treatment for this?

Ace, Empires use copper boilers beneath the nickel plating. It looks to me like you have surface corrosion of the copper that has worked it's way thru the nickel. To completely remove it you will probably have to polish off the nickel til you get down to clean copper. Same goes for the stack and gauge.
Lots of work ahead of you if you actually want to remove it all...brasso, simichrome or Maas polishes will all get the job done.

This one comes up reularly, could the moderators have, an FAQ page to save repeating this over again.
Better still say a 10 point FAQ for the favourite subjects like, what track do I use? and replacing replacing sight glasses?
That would really be a service to all users.
