Computer problem- help pleaseMy sons Windows XP Dell computer has suddenly become impossible to get into,
It throws up a box with "windows needs to be activated" on it. Im at work, and it isnt quite what it says, but thats the gist. have typed the words in and none of the suggested fixed have worked yet.
There is a yes or no, and if no is clicked it logs out, and if yes is clicked the next box appears saying windows is already activated, then we are logged out.
Have tinkered around in safe mode but cant sort it.
It all happened when loading up the new Photobucket bulk uploader, (I think that programme is something to do with sun systems?)
Anyone had the same, and any idea how to fix it
Theres nothing more annoying than a £300 piece of junk that will have to go to PC World if it cant be fixed soon.

That is asking you to call Microsoft to verify that it is a paid for version of XP, if it is a legallt obtaines XP and you have the number that is either included with the XP CD or on a sticker on the side of the computer ( I think Dells have that ) handy when you call.
Mr Gates is so worried that someone might have a computer and not have paid for their Windows

best thing ditch windows and use linux much more stable have now used it for years. best thing is its free
