Cutting thin sheet metal

I've got an electric scrollsaw - this evening I found out that with a bit of care it is perfectly capable of cutting thin (0.4mm in this case) sheet metal....saves messing around with shears and nibblers.

Ive found in the past a really stout pair of scissors can do it!

Aye.....the problem with that is that the metal tends to curl away from the cut due to the lateral strain of the blades - it's also tricky to cut smooth curves. The fretsaw makes a nice clean cut. I expect this is equally possible with a handheld fretsaw, which is just a hugely undervalued tool.

Aye - I used some dressmaking scissors - crap for curves as you say!

Jewellers saw is even better than a fret saw as long as you have a steady hand
