I found a motor in my garage, made a pulley for it, and hooked it up. I don't have anything to power with it right now, one of the outgoing wires broke off and I can't find the soldering gun
But anyway, I got this one for Christmas and am just now putting up a vid for it. It is the electric older type Wilesco and is only missing its water tray, which is fine with me. I think it cost me $75 or around there
The boiler however is definitely a replacement, although I don't know what from. It looks homemade, but I don't really know. Can anyone tell what kind from the video? If not I will post pictures of it close up to help.
Runs well. I wouldn't care about the water tray either; I'd just stick a hose on it and run it to a trap of some sort.
Can't see the boiler very well. Why do you think it's a backyard replacement? Maybe some photos..
But a functioning electric steam engine of respectable size for $75? Can't complain at all. Off the top of my head, about the only other thing you find in that price range are Jensen 35's.
TRAPPERKEEPER
Because I have never seen a brass boilered wilesco with no sightglass to boot. The other Wilescos and D16s of the same era are all nickel plated boiler with sightglasses. And the endcaps look like they have been soldered on by hand as well. But for the price and functionality I could care less really

Somebody could have removed the plating like I am doing on a Jensen right now. Pictures would really help out.
