Nice one Dauntless, does not look like it has had much use.
You'll have one impressive collection of TE's.
Just noticed the TWK is of mostly N&B construction.
The stainless steel pipes for the trailer are a nice finishing touch.

yes its a kit model I have the assembly instructions to go with it too a few mamod brochures, the original steam oil, some fuel tabs and a few spare nuts and bolts.
it was bought in 1982 according to the seller.
I will post up my collection in a few mins.
the stainless pipes were out of our scrap bin in work ( slight dents )

A nice touch as they never originally came with anything I don't think.

ahh right I didnt realise that! I assumed the polystyrene logs had been lost.
My green and red log trailer came with wooden logs but not the polystyrene ones the seller said that he replaced them with real wood to look more authentic!

The polystyrene logs are not very durable.
Could never understand Mamod making a strong durable trailer, then housing it in a strong cardboard box, then letting the side down using polystyrene to make the logs out of , not one of their better idea's.

The new ones now come with wooden logs. Much nicer.

It looks very nice Dauntless. I think a kit Mamod is on my list for this year! Maybe you could turn some solid round bars for the wagon, that'll make the engine work

thanks guys

yes thats a good idea MTA,
I actually looked for lightweight tube but I suppose it would be good to see it pull a heavy load!

nice engine there
the TW1K appeals to me. I remeber building one for a freind who had bought one at a rally in a caravan. It took me about quater of an hour . It had black wheels
if you took a TE apart you could probally put new pipes in and maybe a chuff pipe like on some locos wich would make it sound good when pulling

A nice engine there paul, I like the idea of the pipes, a bit different to the usual logs. The dating seems right as, like yours, the early kit didn't have a canopy.
Cheers

I love and a very nice addition to your collection. As for the date, why not a very early one. Without the box it is difficult to date it. Later models (after about 2000) are forward running only. But the TWK1 hasn't really changed between 1982 and 1999.
Great looking model
