Hi folks , here`s a little fun project i been working on for a while .
My Demonised Jensen 70 .
Because of the modifications , i have re-designated this machine ,
GF = gas fired
SH = super heated
BR = ball raced
The shim looking stuff is actually silver solder shim . The screws are only tempory to hold things in accurate alignment untill the brazing is done .
3 Water tubes were added to the Jensen boiler .
A new I.D. tag was stamped .
Time for action .
The evidence .
In the vid you will see the steam pipe routed down though the firebox on the left , and emerge on the right , to provide a small amount of superheat .

That's very demonic indeed.

A supercharged Yank??!! Demon you did it again !!!!!!!!!!

Top mod work there mate. Really nice way of demonising it and I like the added touch of a new name plate.
Great vid, thanks for posting
"lets open her up". Hitting full throttle from half was like opening up secondaries on a 4bl carb. It really gave a bark
Swift Fox
Neat modification Geoff, certainly goes like the clappers!
sarfraz
Great work there Geoff. Looks the part & goes even better.
Pete the steam
I love your vids and mods Geoff.

You're not joking when you say you have bedeviled it
Almost runs itself in a knot

Demon,
You realise that by doing what you have done, renaming it and providing an engraved nameplate, you have sown the seeds of utter confusion for steamers 50 years hence who will fine this engine, marvel at its workmanship and spend countless hours going through the known books on model steam engines looking for where this engine fitted into the Jensen range...
Well done mate! What a pleasure to see that flywheel running so true!
Steamboat Willie.
Stoker
Unholy Beelzebub, you have that thing running like a raped ape! You may need to add a reinforcing rib to the main vertical frame member, as it looked to have flexed a bit from the torque when you opened the throttle wide!
Wonderful work there Geoff!!!
Celsius 100
A great set of enhancements Geoff,it really motors.

Nice Only thing I do not like about the 70 was the exhaust nice fix. What did you say the RPM was in your video? My all stock 50s model max at about 3900 and holds a good 3000.
MrMamod
Geoff yet again that is superb work and it certainly runs like a DEMON ..
Sandman
Another masterclass in modding from the master himself.
Goes like a bat out of hell, and looks the part as well.
Another triumph Geoff.
scorpion2nz
well that goes like the clappers but I concur with an above statement. I don't think you are getting full revs when at full throttle as I am sure the frame is flexing thus altering the port alignment

Top mod. Boiler tubes make a big difference to steam make up.
The exhaust is spot on too.
This combination would make a great boat engine.
The Denying Dutchman
Those mods definitely boosted the performance of the engine.
xlchainsaw
nice work geoff....its a screamer maybe a thicker spring on the cylinder might give a few more revs
Gary279
Brilliant Geoff!! I love that and man does she scream!!
That would be awesome in a boat!
IndianaRog
Geoff...only you could take a great design and make it a whole lot better.
I really like what you have done...like modding a car to get 2X the horsepower, absolutely awesome !!!

Thanks Guys ! It may not be all that , and if i were to do it again , would i do it differently ? Yes . But time invested , has been maxed out .
So , it is what it is , and i`m happy with it as a novelty item with good play factor .
Its time to move on to the next job .
