Dog clutch and diff plansA member asked for some diff and dog clutch plans, so here they are.
The dog clutch I did needed some tinkering to get it to run freely.
Can't remember what I did. I think adding washers?
I did do a thread on it somewhere, maybe collections or general?
Here's the dog clutch.
And the diff.
The plans from first page carry over to 2nd page
And finally, the dog clutch I did.
Disengaged
Engaged

Ahh, ok looking at the one I made, it was the added washers.
I think this was cos there was too much friction caused without them, and it wasn't running freely

And here's a diff like in Wallace's picture.
I made this over a year ago and it just sits on my computer desk for something for me to fiddle with when waiting for large files to download.

Nice one Mike
Your picks say it, but for the Member who wanted the plans, both plans are built with a Gears outfit B.
The cruical part needed from it is for the dog clutch.
A slottled axle with spring

And the special screws which have the spigots on the end to fit in the keyway on the rod. Its very easy to lose those.....
(and very awkward and fiddley to file new ones!)

Aye! one of gears just 'floats' and is not locked to the shaft - only the instructions tell you that!
