Doll was bought out by Fleischmann in 1938. You will see many Fleischmann items that are very much like Doll.

I am aware of the demise of Doll and subsequently Fleischmann.
It could be described as a classic example of" badge engineering "by Fleischmann.

Yes they did and Fleischmann embarked upon a spate of "badge engineering"
