I love that Bing fan, how does it compare to your Marklin one

Very nice, I was going to bid on the Doll saw but it was finishing approx 4.00am UK time and I wasn't going to wait up.

You have one just like it, right?

Nice, You did really well with the fan (although the saw was a great buy also).
I would guess on I relative basis that the two you won were the better deals. I think the fan was the most important piece, follow by the saw, then the grinder. Only a novice's opinion

I think I like the Marklin a little better. It's just a little bit heavier.
I do like the 3-blade design of the Bing.
Here they are next to eachother:
There is no mounting holes on the Bing:
There is holes on the Marklin:
The Marklin is also easier to oil:

Looks nice Les.
Was this a Bowman grinder that I bid on then?

Yes it is a Bowman Grinder you bid on and did you know that the Bowman tools were in fact made by Doll which explains why the Bowman and Doll Sawbenches are identical.

Bowman Saw
Your Doll Saw.

They look the same because they are. Doll made a whole set of tools for Bowman in the 1920's. They all seem to be in green paint rather than the more standard Bowman red. I guess Doll then used the pattern and made more tools for a wider market without the Meccano base.

Oh and yes another pair of tools I'd gladly have in my collection.
