Duck Steam Tool Time!

So since it is need for steam time I decided to do something I've done before but try to get better views of the tools themselves.

I would say these displays have something for everybody

The Old;

The New;

Barymetric pressure is high and so is humidity which left surprisingly little exhaust. On the Bing I had to empty the little cup in the back 2.5 times during a 45m run and the Wilesco was about correspondingly dry, chuff pot by Ross' Steam Stuff, after about 30m.

The slightly choppy performance of the farther tools run in the Old run is due the small pulley vs. speed of the Bing.
These are what I tend to drench in oil. They are my darlings
Tony Bird

Very enjoyable.

Regards Tony.
benchmark

Nice array Duckman.
MrDuck

Thanks, Kenneth. It's incredibly fun to have them mounted and watch the tools do their thing
peol

Very nice, and I like how the sound of the engines match the different setups, from the old "chuff-chuff" sound of the Bing to the more modern sound of the Wilesco.

St. Paul steam

a joy to watch , thanks

Very enjoyable to watch thanks for posting. I think he needs some green belting so his Marklin fan works better.   I all so have never seen what I beleive to be a Marklin double stone grinder before.
MrDuck

Thank you all

The big grinder is Märklin and has a cast hood that flips so it can be used from both sides.

The double gronder is something of a mystery.
I haven't seen it in the catalogs I have access to online but it has Märklin parts and the real stones so I see no reason to doubt the identity.

I use to have the big single grinder at one time with other Marklin machines. The reason I guessed Marklin on the smaller double stone is the color but who knows.
MrDuck

It has the Märklin 30s stamp on the bottom but that's no guarantee
MrMamod

Great vids and for me it HAS to be the old ones     ..
MrDuck

They are fine and so very silent compared to the new offerings

Gary279

Brilliant!!  Thank you!
mrborinator

Great setups. You almost need a larger table for them...

Thanks for the vid's.

I got to watch one video, that was fantastic Petri
ozsteamdemon

Yep , the old one does it for me , great engine , great tools , and a great chuff . Well done the Duckman !
Dean W

I can't get the stupid Photobucket to quit buffering and just show the darn thing.
I would like to watch, but not going to wait 10 minutes for poopbucket to load up.
MrDuck

Thanks for the kind comments

I'm sadly stuck with PB it seems and that can be annoying. I think it is their reliance on Flash that causes the arbitrary behaviour.

I have never run them one right after the other and it was interesting to say the least but most of all fun
sarfraz

Two very enjoyable videos, thankyou for sharing.

I like the sound of the bing more definately. Music too my ears. Thumbs up!
Sandman

Really enjoyable.

Magic stuff.
MrDuck

Thanks Abdul it does have a strong chuff
steaminon

Super, I must get my accessories set up some time soon.
MrDuck

Do that. They really come to their right used in a setup
Earlytimes

I like that.....

Thanks for setting it up... Petri
MrDuck

I like running my engines with some "actual" work for them to do. It both looks and sounds better
