DVD Creation Software

for the last few years I've been using Roxio Easy Dvd Creator, but when I used it recently I dicovered that part of it has stopped working after a bit of digging I have found it is not compatible with IE7!

the roxio solution...
either buy Easy DVD creator 9 £50 or uninstall IE7 and go back to IE6.

so I'm never buying roxio again

I'm thinking of getting either

Nero 7 Premium Reloaded

or

Cyberlink DVD Suite Pro 5

any thoughts or other recommendations?

thanks Paul.
joiner

I use nero no problem with explorer 7
Graham-Jilly

Hi Paul I Use Nero 7 and have found it useful.
It does however lock up the system if a very large file is being generated. otherwise quite handy for small productions

cheers Graham and Jilly

PS we both miss wales as we spent 14 months there such a beautiful country

thanks guys

I live about 50 miles from Swansea, I'm near Caerphilly.

lovely area I was down around the Gower last summer
Graham-Jilly

Hi -- We clearly remember Caerphilly -- we spent half a day going through the castle and took loads of pictures. It was a hot day when we were there. and such a pretty town. We loved exploring on our weekends and didn't get to nearly all the places we wanted to see. Cheers Graham-Jilly

I had to take IE7 off when it played up with ebay. Took me ages to work out what was going on, and only by chance, at work, did I find a post on ebay's forum/help boards saying it does have some problems with ebay
Note, this was OZ ebay only, not UK, or any others. Might be fixed now.

Anyway

I was using Intervideo DVD creator for a while, but on a suggestion from Sandman tried out Pinnacle Studio 9.

I haven't got right into it yet, but it's great. 10 is out, but SM can fill you in on that.

Software certainly isn't what it used to be.
IE7 not compatible with one of OZ's most used sights

Just read a full, unbiased article on Vista too, which I'll have to put up on the Vista thread. Absolute joke

Dauntless, I'm with Wallace - the Pinnacle software is great.

At work I use DVD Studio Pro, but that's insanely expensive software and requires a fast Mac. For the Mac users among us - I actually quite like iDVD.

I use Pinnacle Studio 10 Plus with all the bells and whistles.

I would not use anything else. (That's what I used for the STIA DVD)

You can add lots to the basic package. For instance ,I have over 60 CDs of smart tracks music backing discs and more transitions and effects than you can shake a stick at.

Yup. Pinnacle Studio 10 is the one for me.

iDVD is OK Moose - again a fast Mac with lots of RAM helps . . .
Sandman

Maybe I'm reading this a bit wrong here.

If creating Data DVDs or photo DVDs or simply DVD copying is all that's required Nero 7 would be my choice.

Mine had lots of nice lights.
Unplugged all of them except the one in my fan that I cant unplug, otherwise my PC keeps me awake with all its lights when it downloading large files over night.

Every fan in my pc has an LED light, even on the G card and power unit . I've got roughly 5 fans going, it overheated before so I smacked some more in. That was when I was playing King Kong

Well, it's all very nice and good Mike, but you can't see it when it's got a case around it

MACS would be a lot better if they were PC's hmmmm

Keep Roxio and install FireFox rather than using IE7. It's free and just excellent.

Second that - might add cross-platform as well!
Sandman

Sorry guys.

If you want to be sure your machine plays the latest software, it's got to be PC.

Mac is ,and always will be ,playing catch up.

Cutting edge is PC.

People only use IE if they haven't tried Firefox.
