dynamo helpWhen you're driving a dynamo do you prefer the spring belt on a pully or a canvas belt ?

I always use a spring belt to drive my dynamos, but I have also seen a very nice rubber belting material that is cut to size and the end surfaces glued together making for an almost seamless belt. These are almost always green in color and I have one engine that came with one of those and it is quite nice. I have never tried canvas...but I think the pulleys on my engines are too narrow and deep grooved for something like that to work.

If you have any old casette players or VCRs you can rob them for their drive belts if you're after a belt as opposed to a band. I suppose it depends on the driving and driven ends though!
