Early MM1 Disc Crank near MIBI purchased this disc crank MM1 in the last couple of days. It started it's days in Canada was originally marked post to North America only. I should have known better as I've bought a couple of FB engines from there under the same circumstance.
Our more than astute, OZ Jensen dealer managed to pick it up for around US $100 posted to OZ. Unfortunately I ended paying nearly double that but becasue of it's condition, I still consider it a good price
Which goes to illustrate, if your interested in anything, and even if it's marked for local postage only, it's still worth asking - same with Paypal.
This engine is in near mint condition and still has all of it's lacquer, even though around the cylinder and face plate, it's getting a bit ratty.
Just look at condition of the paint on the fire box, and no, it hasn't been got at.
It even has the original plug for the burner, and there are only a couple of very minor scratches on the base.
The SV is the same as the very early one on my FB, base mounted chimney SE1, it has a large nipple, where as my later MM1 disc crank only has the mark left by the parting off tool.
Whilst the disc is the same as my other one the cylinder has a much thicker wall.
This is the first engine of this age that I've had an original instruction sheet for,
Cheers

Very nice, well done.
I quite often ask about postage and usually find that they will post abroad even when it states America only.

Thanks Les, I forgot to say that I fired it up as soon as I got it (just had to replace the"O" ring in the SV, using Barry1946's magic tool) and it ran very well. I little stiff in the cylinder/piston department - would suggest it hadn't been used much.
Cheers

Chris, that is great mate. Very nice buy I think
Amazed how great the condition is. For some reason the MM1/2's seem to cop a hiding.
And the instructions are top condition too
Great buy

Jeez Chris what a beauty.
I love these little engines and to see one in that condition is simply mind boggling.
It's no wonder the piston is a bit stiff as that looks as if it's been hardly run at all.
A great buy mate and a real asset to your collection.

That is one nice engine Chris, I am glad that you fired it up. No point in having them if they just sit on a shelf

I missed this in April Chris and I just have to say that that is a real Peach.
I have a real soft spot for MM1s and that is a beauty and with box & instruction sheet, it's worth every penny of what you paid.
Lovely

Many thanks John, the same for me, and many UK members too. One of the many benefits of this forum
