i received my new Edrig whistle convertion from DJB engineering today. after 2 weeks of waiting.

fitted it in around the first hour of getting it.

a short vid

it sounds better in person.
i am sure i will keep the neighbours happy
IndianaRog

Andy, that sounds quite nice, almost like the real thing!
Les

Definitely one of the better sounding whistles.
Titan

Do you know I think that sounds even beter than Titans!

Its great that these edrigs can be so easily personalised!
alan2525

Sounds great - those Edrigs do look like a lot of fun and a little cheaper than the roundhouse offerings so lend themselves to being modified and personalised a bit too!

Saw a vid of the Edrig coal fired conversion too:

The great thing about coal firing is you get the right smell too, plus all the coal dust and grime really makes the locos look the part...

johnreid

About the best sounding small whistle I have ever heard, that is a nice one.

thanks alan.

i have seen them before, and realy want a coal convertion kit. but sadly DJB have stopped producing them, due to illness.

i am trying to find someone who can do some plans or make one, but not realy had any luck so far.
pauly

that sounds great

does anyone know of a whistle that could be fitted to a RH millie
andysleigh

DJB do loads of resonator whistles. like mine, a better.

you could also try fitting a whistle for somthing like a 3 1/2" or 5" loco in the side tank.

Thanks
Im about to give Torak an upgrade so will have to look into getting a whistle fitted

I didn't realise the DJB engineering conversions aren't available anymore. For anyone who hasn't seen those - the boilers are fantastic works of engineering:

i am very pleased with my whistle.
its loud and not to hard to set up.

only problem is that if it stops working, you have to take it off, just pull it out the holes, take out a tiny grubb screw, pull the two halfs apart and put in soapy water, then put it all back together
pauly

if I wanted to put a whistle on my millie would I need to drill more holes
