end of Edrig! The last batch of Edrigs is about to be made, after this there will be no more.
I was told when Edrig came out that it would force RH Millie out of production but the Millie class has outlasted them (just so you know Im very fond of the RH Millie class )

I'm sure Accucraft will bring out another model priced closely to the old Edrig to fill that gap in the market. The problem with the Edrig is that it is rather large for 16mm in my mind. The R/H Millie is rather basic though and the design of the running gear is rather poor, even the humble Accucraft Ruby has much better engineered slip eccentrics.

Wrong Allen!I have 3 Rubys+ 1Rubykit and the RH Millie!!!!
The Rubys eccentrics have a lot of play and run no matter what you do either super in forward or reverse but not equal both ways:the Millie runs equal in both directions also keep in mind Millie is a slip eccentric!!

if i had the money, i would buy another edrig but the chassis only.
they are a great loco for beginners to get into it all, but are as alan said, a bit oversized for 16mm 2ft gauge running.

Glad I got my Edrig when I did then, but I do agree its a big monster.
Haven't had a chance to even take it out the box since I got home but in time I think I will have to mod it to make it look a bit nicer.
But for its short falls the Edrig is a great priced loco for those staring out in live seam.

John from track-shack has posted this on another forum.
Sounds interesting
"Would you all please say hello to "Ragleth" the new 0-4-0T from Accucraft UK to be produced on the Edrig/Caradoc power unit. biggrin.gif
A sample will be on show at the Welshpool gala this year, along with the sample of Mannin.
Ragleth will look like Caradoc but will have a few changes, and will make fitting of the servo for R/C easier. The side tanks have been shortened to show more of the smoke box and the profile of the rear of the cab has been changed to balance the shortened tanks.
In order to keep prices down Accucraft would have to order double the quantity of each model of both Edrig and Caradoc. By replacing the two models with one they can keep more models in stock (we like constant availiability don't we) wink.gif and keep the prices at the sort of level we are accustomed to .
Consideration is being made to offering some more extra colours for this new model, what do you fancy? Feedback required please.
The "Edrig power unit" will still be available as these are the same guts for Ragleth. (Running boiler/frames and wheels for your own tanks/cab to be fitted).
In addition consideration is being given to doing a "Lawley power unit" if anyone fancies the concept of an 0-6-0 running cahssis for your own body work. I guess this would make a good tender engine too. Feedback on this will be appreciated.
Finally I should say Ragleth is not likely to be in the shops till next year, meanwhile the last batch of Caradoc has just arrived and the final batch of Edrig is due in September.
Happy steamings,
John "
