End of the old Mamod ForumTomorrow, 19th July is the date the Mamod Forum was closed down last year and James invited us to join him on the now Unofficial Mamod and Other Steam Forum.
On the 19th and then over next few days and weeks many of us found (or were led) here to meet up again. And since then we have been joined by many friends and the forum has gone from strength to strength.
I will be lifting my forum birthday mug tomorrow evening to thank everyone for a lovely year and to look forward to the next year. Yes, we've had some growing pains but look what we now have. I don't care if you joined on the 19th July last year or the 18th July this year. Lets all celebrate tomorrow.

Tomorrow I have the day off school. I should be on the end of year trip but I can't go cos I have had an exclusion from school

I'll be steaming all 3 of my working engines tomorrow, as a little celebration, even though I wasn't around in the days when you all came here. I'm guessing you well stocked on the Guiness for tomorrow James?

I had an e-mail from you, Sandy, Steely, Jimmy boy sitting in my inbox on the 19th of July, saying... what the hell are we going to do? the old Mamod forums are shut down
With a little bit of time we've evolved into a great steam forum good job we had peoples e-mail addresses though

Sure does Sandy, seemed like the end of the world when it happened, but looking back, it was more of a blessing in disguise.
The old forums brought as all together, but it was only a stepping stone on to BIGGER and BETTER things

We "late-comers" owe all the founders of the Unofficial forum a GREAT BIG THANK YOU.
I wasn't part of the "old forum" but I bet it wasn't a patch on what we have now. And I say we because as a as member it really feels that it's my forum which I can share with a lot of new friends from all over the world.

that's what I aim for! Make this forum the people's forum. THE friendliest, most active and best forum on the internet I think. Once people have abused it, and paid the price by getting banned, they regret it so much and become jealous and it gives us lots and lots and lots of laughs at how girly and immature these people actually are.
You guys are the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet and talk steam to in me life! I've made some great friends on here, and I know some people hate me. If you like me, great, thanks. If you hate me, I hate you too

Just like to add my vote of thanks to James for starting this forum, and to all the members who are so kind at passing on and sharing their knowledge and experiences.
It has certainly lit my fire to get cracking on my Garden Railway again, which had been sidelined to the spare bedroom until recently.
