New Smokey Roller - a work of art
Scorpian - Has real charm
SL1 - a classic!
Showmans - I've driven the real version of that model

If it was not for the Cat keeping a watchful eye I might have contested the draw This just means another month of Campaigning for a Jensen EOM
Vote cast and anxiously awaiting the results. It was so hard to choose as they were all good entries.

Not usually into modifications but that New Smokey Roller is the business.

What happened to all the Jensens. I love this month. Two mobiles. The New / Old Smokey has it from me.

... as a True Democrat, I say: All of them are No.1 Honest, I think Old Smokey is a candidate, since I admire the owner's skill in "supering" her up. Great job! The Mamod is fantstic, but - for my taste! Please disagree, who wishes! - too "out of the box". The Scorpion - I've never seen one of its kind! It looks chunky and has a "minimalistic" charm to it. The D409 is a work of art in its own - yet also quite "out of the box" (but the tyres are super, especially it you want to use her outdoors on rough ground). The Märklin? Hell, Märklin is Märklin is Märklin. I know someone who collects them (0, I and II gauges) who says they are better than money in the bank. Prices vintage Märklin reache are incredible.
So I guess I'll vote for ...

... P.S.: Jim, thanks for the video! I really dig your cat's attitude. As if he were saying, "c'mon, boss, gimme a break! I'm tryin' to sleep!"

Tough choice.
I think I have to go for the one that gave me the greatest factor when I first saw it.

I voted for the Jensen
All good examples to choose from, but to date it looks like a Landslide, there again, hours of effort and skill pays off.

I thought the Mamod SL1 was produced from 1980, and not 1979.

Another fantastic draw James. A nice winter feel to it by the fireside
Had to go with the one I spent the longest looking at - the New re-worked Smokey.
|
Rob

im not sure to be honest chris, it has 1979 printed inside the box of fuel it came with so im just going off that...

Please refresh my memory, when does the voting close?
So far a landslide, but such a good one to be landslided for. So nicely done that its unfair to others.

Difficult choice, but inventiveness and initiative wins the day - the roller!

Very hard... the Marklin's lovely... but I went for the Scorpion.

Only a bit over a day to vote so if you haven't voted yet now is the time.

2 hours to go on the Poll. (Its goes by Western Australian Time)
It will take a big effort to knock the Smokey off but there is still a lot of people that haven't voted, so make your vote count.

I think it is one per month and if you won the previous month you can't enter next months to give the other members a chance.

So, who won?

My Scorpion did but as Rog had put such hard work on his roller I decided to let him have it.

Well done Rog! Richly deserved I think, but doesn't this get harder every month!

Thanks Moose...it does indeed get harder every month. I am very glad the concept of the "Engine of the Month" got birthed in the first place. Thanks for that go to Paul (Dauntless) I believe...it gives us all something to shoot for and the winners thus far have been great examples of some neat engines.
cheers,
Rog

Quite agree, making a choice on these engines is getting harder and harder.
Congrats to Rog, as his Roller is a worthy winner.

you can pm me as many as you like each month and James will randomly draw 5 out of his hat for the final poll, But Tonys right if you win say January's EOTM you cannot enter February's but you are free to enter again in March.
Paul.

Thanks Atticman...
The backdrop by the way is the inside of my blue canvas shop apron...it got washed for the first time in 10 years before I took those pictures of the "New Smoky"...It came out so bright I vowed to wash it every 5 years from now on, whether it needs it or not!!
