Wow, an all British engine selection ,
all great as well.
Always difficult, but this months harder than ever. In the end though think its the ingenuity of the Wormar and the accessories thats done it for me

... I'm torn between Wilson and Wormar. But they're all wonderful engines!
I give my vote to ...
Says Tom, a true Democrat!
|
James
|
Just changing the SE2 from 1958 to 1949!
|
Nick

Since there's no Jensens, I'll have to think about it before voting.
I really like the workshop setup, so I'm leaning towards that one.

I think I know what I will vote for.

Good idea, is that possible?
Some months the voting and interest seems to peter out as the winner is clear from the earliest voting.
Mind James trys his hardest by only allowing half a month to vote in
|
Nick

Hopefully it will be a closer vote this month.
I wasn't able to see the results until I voted.

That simple and elegant Wilson is a show stopper for me!! I love understatement- which makes no sense since I am kinda' wordy!!

SEL minor cause its so small that when you see 1 for the first time you think thatll never steam

Still only a one vote lead for the winner.

We've never had a tie yet, guess we could let it run for an extra day or I would just have to put two pictures at the bottom which I would hate as I would have to rewrite some of the HTML in the footer of the webpage to make it look ok.

Naa we had it before at like 16 and 17 on the votes, that were contesting til the last minute nearly!!
Me M122 came second in that one
The SE2 would steam, I steam mine all the time and it's me best running Mamod!

That was a difficult decision. I voted for the same model as the one I actually own.
The workshop is great however
Yes I agree it would be nice to only see the voting at the end of the poll, keeps some mystery to it. Don't know if that's possible or not. I'm sure I could write some website code to do it.

Keep in mind folks that it doesnt matter if your engine gets one vote or all of them, they are all so good and that is why you bothered to enter them. Although it is fun to cheer your favorite on.

Unless it's a Jensen, then it's better.
Go Super C!

Liked the Wormar Accessories but in the final analysis the condition and age of the Wilson was what swayed us. Andrew and I voted for the Wilson. D

Hmmmmm maybe one could Photoshop them together and make it one Photo. If it remains a tie I would gladly help on those lines.
Or you could just use the picture of the Wilson.

We discussed it on the Mods board and decided making them both on one picture would result in both engines being very small and if we end with a tie both engines will be declared this months engine and both will be put in the Steam Reference Library Engine of the Month Thread and each will be displayed for two weeks.
Now this would mean twice as much work for me and I'm lazy so quick someone else vote so we have one winner and save me some work.

If there should be a tie between Les' and my engines (I think everyone's worked out who they belong to by now), I will withdraw my entry and let the Wilson have the honour - no problem at all with that as I voted for it in a previous EOTM poll.
Hope this makes things easier.

If it is a tie, might I propose that one be the June EOM? I think that would be a fair way to sort it out. The Battle between the Marklin and the "Thing" can occur for July honors.

If you do want to do that Moose I would still include you engine in the library as winner for this month but just put the other one up but who knows what will happen.
The pictures will probably be up a bit later this month as I can normally prepare everything a few hours earlier but I can't this month as it could still go any way so probably won't get them up until tomorrow after work OZ time.

No problem Tony. The way I see it there are two very worthy candidates there....I'd have a tough time choosing between them. Be better if someone won it squarely, but if it comes to a tie, let the Wilson have it, and of cours you can use my setup in any way you like.

Moose thats very kind of you, amazing to get the same number so far, have lost the official finishing time, something to do with Oz time, so its pretty soon.
If its a tie I think it should officailly be a tie though
|
Les Marsh
|
Moose, that is very gracious of you, but if it is a tie then either yours or both engines should win. It is not fair if yours is not displayed as this has been a close contest all the way to the end.
Failing that, then have one extra days voting just between our two engines.

While I was considering my vote (and I had narrowed it down to the 2 leaders) I simply remembered that this contest is for "engine" of the month, not accessory shop of the month. Given that, and a good look at the condition of the 2 fine and collectable engines, I went with the Wilson. This takes nothing away from the really nice working accessory display. It was just the ENGINES for me.

So the voting has Finished and the Wormar is the winner.

My goodness! I made the casting vote!
I went to lengths to ensure that I was unbiased - I did not look at the results or read the thread before I voted, and funnily enough the two that I could not make up my mind between were the two leading contenders!
Unable to make up my mind I just asked myself the question: If someone was to offer me one to keep, which one would I choose?
So I went for the workshop. I had no idea it was so close - but I can see why!
