That sounds nice
Power wise, is there any other make of engine you could compare it too for a comparison?
It does look a strong runner.

This DDR will not win 'prettiest engine' award but it's managed to charm me nevertheless & growing on me a little bit more every time I see, & most especially, hear it. Everything looks so robustly built.

It's not extremely powerful - I'd say it's on a par with some of the bigger Wilescos, but due to the heavy components what you lose in engine speed you make up for in forward momentum - a real engine lover's engine....
SG, I agree it ain't going to win any beauty contests, but I think I can restore it to something a little nicer - you're right though, this engine sort of gets under your skin...."compelling" is the right word I think

You do suprise me, going by the engine note, it sound's like it would hang right in there.
I Still like it though.

The boiler is pretty small for an engine that size - one of these days I'll try what happens if I sling it up to a Jensen boiler or something like that - could be amusing!
I think it was a little unfair of me to compare it with a Wilesco (not that I think there's anything wrong with Wilesco). At low revs it's a LOT more powerful - it "staggers on" nicely.

sure is a great beast MM!!!
I was suprised when i hooked up a second engine to my TVR1a ,I didn't expect the exhaust steam from it to power another engine, but did
