Ernst Plank Steam Engine arrived..and ready for departure!Got this today....
Maye quick a few pics and threw it up on ebay again.
You can see it in the ebay section...
This is an old plank locomobile...
But this engine is in SUCH a bad condition, it is unbelieeable!
Also, the crappy (yes, it's a Plank and it's crap!) materials and construction is just disappointing me.
I had expected more...
Insted of screws, the firebox and the front column are fixed on the baseplate by small lead rivets
Water outlet valve missing and hole soldered up.
Sightglasscover missing.
Watergauge screws soldered up (still can be screwed out)
Big bolt stuck in boiler, can't take it out....
Bush broken out of boiler that helds the engine on
Chimney missing
2nd Flywheel missing
This all wasn't stated by the seller..so let's see what he says [/b]

If it does not sell i will take it completely apart and try a "restoration" without trying to make it original.
It will get a Wilsco wateroutlet valve or whatever i can find....
And it will get nice nuts and bolts....

Bubba- I am not a train guy but I am in herds of them when ever I visit hobby stores,, there are so many products in the train section for "weathering effects" to wood, paint and metal for the dioramas used in the track layouts and such.. there is a lot to be learned there if you have a mind for that.
Pinstrip a wheel?- put it on an axle in a vise, spin the wheel and hold you brush steady.. let the wheel do the work - use a wrist rest to hold your hand steady as opposed to free handing
